A Preliminary Investigation on Frequency Dependant Cues for Human Emotions

نویسندگان

چکیده

The recent advances in Human-Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence have significantly increased the importance of identifying human emotions from different sensory cues. Hence, understanding underlying relationships between cues become a subject study many fields including Acoustics, Psychology, Psychiatry, Neuroscience Biochemistry. This work is preliminary step towards investigating for emotion on fundamental level by aiming to establish tonal frequencies sound emotions. For that, an online perception test conducted, which participants are asked rate perceived corresponding each tone. results show that crossover point four primary lies frequency range 417–440 Hz, thus consolidating hypothesis 432–440 Hz neutral perspective. It also observed dependant pairs Happy—Sad, Anger—Calm approximately mirrored symmetric nature.

Real-life emotions detectio paralinguistic cues on Human-H

The emotion detection work reported here is part of a larger study aiming to model user behavior in real interactions. We already studied emotions in a real-life corpus with human-human dialogs on a financial task. We now make use of another corpus of real agent-caller spoken dialogs from a medical emergency call center in which emotion manifestations are much more complex, and extreme emotions...

The role of emotions in multiagent teamwork: A preliminary investigation

Emotions play a significant role in human teamwork. However, despite the significant progress in multiagent teamwork, as well as progress in computational models of emotions, there have been very few investigations of the role of emotions in multiagent teamwork. This chapter attempts a first step towards addressing this shortcoming. It provides a short survey of the state of the art in multiage...

The Influence of F0 Discontinuity on Intonational Cues to Word Segmentation: A Preliminary Investigation

The paper presents the results of a 2AFC offline wordidentification experiment by [1], reanalyzed to investigate how F0 discontinuities due to voiceless fricatives and voiceless stops affect cues to word segmentation in accentual-phraseinitial rises (APRs) of French relative to a reference condition with liquid and nasal consonants. Although preliminary due to the small sample size, we found in...

Children's recognition of emotions from vocal cues.

Emotional cues contain important information about the intentions and feelings of others. Despite a wealth of research into children's understanding of facial signals of emotions, little research has investigated the developmental trajectory of interpreting affective cues in the voice. In this study, 48 children ranging between 5 and 10 years were tested using forced-choice tasks with non-verba...
